Naissaar.com exists because this island deserves more than a paragraph in a Tallinn city guide. It is an independent travel guide to the batteries, villages, beaches and trails of Naissaar — written to be genuinely useful before you go and while you are there.
What we cover
- How to get to the island from Tallinn, and what to check before you sail.
- Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
- What to see — the mine depot, coastal batteries, railway, Lõunaküla, the lighthouse and the nature park.
- Where to sleep, on the island and in Tallinn.
- When to come, what to pack and how to stay safe among military ruins.
How we research
Historical dates and facts are checked against published sources, the nature park, transport operators and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide. Where something changes from season to season — boat operators, timetables, fares, opening times — we say so plainly and tell you to check, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.
Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when GetYourGuide has only one Naissaar product, when a tour has no reviews, and when the public boat is the better choice.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and link to Trip.com for accommodation. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placements and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Boats change, cafés close, guesthouses change hands. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.
